Alex Foillard – Brouilly 2020

Alex Foillard is the son of Beaujolais legend Jean Foillard, part of the iconic ‘Gang of Four’. Farming 2 hectares which he acquired at the young age of 24 in both Brouilly and Cotes Brouilly, his wines have a tiny dose of sulphur at bottling and show the elegance of the wines of his father.

This is Alex Foillard’s 14% Brouilly which is grown on 60 year vines grown on granite soil, vinified with carbonic maceration. We hear it is less fruit-forward than the Cote du Brouilly, with notes of elderberry and lavender.
