Yep another moron, How do you mistake a man for a bull Elk. The guy needs to NEVER hunt again. he's one of those that shoots at anything that moves.

He and his hunting buddy were walking back to their camp and another idiot hunter mistook them for a bull elk and shot the guy in the leg.

Years ago a man was shot by another bow hunter while he was in a ELEVATED stand and it killed him. Now figure that one out.

I frequently bowhunt that area too except for this weekend. This is the only news coverage I've seen so I posted in my local hunting FB and got these ...

Yeah he looks like a big bull. What a idiot! Guess I'll never understand how you mistake a human for a Elk, Deer, or whatever.

This idiot needs to have their hunting privileges taken! Let's hope they do not rifle hunt!

Out of state hunter? They do that allot in CA. ?

No not CA, two guys from GF.... And at 8:15 in the evening, so it was dark. Yes they defiantly need to have their hunting privileges taken!!! Guy that was shot is my friends brother-in-law.

There's been hunters shot here cause they looked like Turkeys and squirrels. I don't understand why people just shoot at moving bushes. That's why I like hunting on a lease. I know where everyone is and how they hunt. If we get an idiot like that he is gone. We have kicked a couple out for being careless and reckless with a gun before.

A: don't always assume other hunters are a careful as you are.

B: always carry a good first aid kit, not a boo-boo kit.  Had he not come up with a tourniquet he would have probably died.

I totally agree, but 8:15 in the evening during the incident was already pitch black esp. under the canopy. I would have been making all kinds of noise racket as I take the trails back to my vehicle ... but that's just me.

I know the area very well and do know it's frequented by out-of-staters, some are military members but not all. The last respond I got in FB says, 2 guys from Great Falls but no other info.

I stopped by at the FWP yesterday to get my duck stamp and talked to a friend that works there. She said there's NO information out. However, she said the wardens might know but can't release any information until after the investigation.

I was out at woods after work bowhunting for deer and had to quit hunting at 7:20 PM (latest shooting legal shooting time is 7:40 PM), it was already to dark for me.
