I am really pumped up though I wont have as many days to hunt as I normallly do. With the elk hunt coming up I will get some in at that point but then one empty weekend and it is off to AZ for a schools that will eat up the rest of bow season and the first weekend of black powered.

Got in the new Axcel sight and mounted it yesterday. I wanted something with smaller and more pins. Now I have 7 pins at 0.010 each. About half the size of my old pins. I have it very solid out to 60 and consistent but larger groups at 70 and 80. 40 and in are chip shots though and that may be a good thing as the wind may have me in a blind over a field rather than in a tree in the woods tomorrow.

Good luck, i hope to see a pic of a cooler full of meat.
with me getting off work around 8-8:30 am it's tough trying to get out. Having to start at 5:30 pm I cannot do a evening hunt much. Plus I'm always so tired there is no way I could stay awake. When I do get a day off all I feel like doing is resting.
So how is the Elk training going?

Well this started off like shat. I drove in to drop off and set up the blind real quick and jumped 2 does. Maybe a good sign right, get the blind set up and pull over into parking. Get changed and grab my bow when I realize I left my hunting vest and the house. Not only am I missing my range finder, binos, but also my release. This sucks so now I am just wild life watching.

Yes it does. The good news is that I have not seen anything since th 2 that I jumped up coming in. So I have not missed any shot opportunities. I decided to hand around long enough to watch some wildlife and change the cards in my camera. Got a text from my buddy that drew the elk hunt and he out a doe down right about first shooting light this morning.

I hate it when that happens. Fortunately, I hunt at home, so I always have the option of ducking back in to get what I forgot.

Right after I read your op I let the dog out and there was a doe in my south paddock. She was still there when I let the dog back in a good ten minutes later.
