What is the best way to clear a scope with a charging handle?  Different handle or just an extension?

I probably have too big a scope, its a Millet TRS, but I like it...

Probably could find answer on a search, but not allowed to since I'm new. :D:

I just went with a charging handle with an extended latch, like a bcm, raptor, or geissele.

You could also look into something like this - http://www.brownells...-prod85642.aspx

That one is a little expensive for my budget.

I could have sworn I saw charging handle extensions on Amazon two days ago. Now they are gone.

Are the too gun like for them???

I should not buy anything from Amazon, due to their stance on guns.  But cheap prices and really fast shipping are hard to pass.  And the free no hassle returns is the big thing.

I buy gun stuff from amazon all the time, primary arms, optics planet, and a few other major gun accessory stores have shops on amazon also.

My solution was to install an extended latch into my existing charging handle. There are several "upsized" charging handle latches available.

Some examples:

Uh huh.  Lots of these on the market, just look around.  I have several of these, they are GTG.

I have a couple of these in use. Nice product for a reasonable price.

I have this on my rifle, it's a pretty good sized extension, don't know how big your scope is though.

I got myself a latch-less charging handle from strike industries. It's called the phantom.  They are gonna sell extensions you can put on them in a bit since it's a pretty new thing. but the latch-less is nice I think since you are able to use either side to cock the gun if you want but I always use two fingers one on each side. I donno why a an optc would be so far back to go over the charging handle.. maybe make it so it just ends just over it or something or get a riser for it.

I use the bravo large, but still tight with large glass even with 1/2" riser

Living in komyfornia my amazon only lists what they call airsoft parts. Just use the search bar.

You have to be careful about this, it's better to get a charging handle designed to be pulled like that with the extra rotational forces vs a cheap part or copycat handle designed to separate you from your money and then will bind/twist and break.

If it's a range gun who cares if/how/when it mucks up and leaves you with a inop weapon....
