Exactly! H.R. 3999 would have never got out of committee had the NRA comes straight out from the get go on this.

NRA leadership's immediate surrender was what made this bill possible.

Another - Exactly!

Frankly, the NRA must take a position moving forward that no, zero, nada, none, not one more single solitary gun law on should be passed. there has already been far too much capitulation. We are well beyond the point where tragedies like Vegas must start to be examined profoundly for its root cause vs. what "tool" was used during the execution.

I wonder how many members (like me) wrote to the NRA and gave them an earful about this?

I told them if they support a ban I'd cancel my membership and never rejoin - ever!

Ditto. I've drawn my line in the sand, and I've let them know that if they cross it, I'm done giving them a single red cent.

The NRA was in favor of additional regulations but never a ban. It is quite obvious that they would fight the Feinstien bill which is broadly worded to cover a wide range of possible items.

Their emails, phones, and social media blew up last week. Just like the NFL, they quickly realized that the statement they put out last week was going to seriously affect their bottom line. They were about to see the bottom fall out of their funds and income. They had to change their stance.

With an item like this regulation pretty much equals a ban. Good God man.
