Sweet! Congratulations Adair!
Its going to be a Springfield, or an H&R. There have been some really nice rifles being sent out lately. If you go to the CMP forum, under M1 Garand, they have a sticky showing rifles that people have been receiving.
Also, yes, overnight shipping. It will need to be signed for. Someone needs to be there. You dont want them to ship it back. Can you send it to your office, or work?
I think the S&B is supposed to be good. PPU is supposed to be pretty good too. If you watch the forum, you fans find guys selling spam cans of Geeek HXP surplus ammo to.

I cant wait to see it.

I will come back from elk hunting to sign for it if I have to, I just dont want to. Sounds like turnaround time is as low as 9 days, and if thats the case, it may just arrive before I go. Hard to say though.

Those times are great. My last two M1 Carbines bout four months. My original Garands took about six months many moons ago.

Just ordered this to go with this new Garand that will be on the way.  Should have me covered for clips and some greek ammo (thanks Hulka) to start with.

I think I am going to still order a case of that S&B, SGammo has it for about .65 a round if you order the 400rd case, which seems to be about as good of a deal as any with shipping.

Interesting. Why don't ALL online gun stores provide this service?

Because CMP is a U.S. gubmint chartered  organization exempt from the ATF rules.  Greek surplus ammo rules.

Not yet, I have not received confirmation that they got the order.

I am kind of hoping that they are slow on getting this out.  If they don't ship it by Friday this week, then I wont be here to sign for it as I will be trying to go find me a bull elk.  I am hoping to get confirmation they received the order today at least, it has been a week now.

After you get your DBU, you can go to CMP and check you account. It will tell you the status of your order. Eventually, it will give you a serial number, and you can look up the year of manufacture. After you get a serial number, it will only be a day or two until it ships.

Yeah, I am still waiting for the DBU email.  I sent it first class mail, so I am thinking it should have been delivered anytime between monday and now.

I looked over at the CMP website, and it looks like it’s taking about 2 to 2 1/2 weeks to receive an order. Hopefully you’ll get your DBU soon.
