Ruger is making a Super Redhawk in 10MM.

Those are sweet. I had a 44 mag super red hawk years ago and loved it. I would think the 10mm would be a dream to shoot.

Is this not basically an underpowered .41 magnum?

Pretty much but the 10mm ammo might be slightly more readily available. I have always liked the .41, plenty stout enough without the 44mag thump.
