The Tenuta Sette Ponti boasts some of the oldest vineyards in Tuscany, dating back to 1935 when cultivation was begun by Vittorio Emanuele di Savoia. Today, all the estate’s vineyards are grown organically in the Valdarno, one of the richest historical areas of Tuscany, between Florence and Arezzo, immersed in a territory rich in history and Roman and Etruscan archaeological remains. The vineyards where the Tenuta Sette Ponti Vigna dell’Impero is grown and produced are terraces dug into the limestone soil typical of this area, about 250 meters above sea level. The soil is a mix of clay, rock, and gravel, a combination of natural elements that lends a spectacular minerality to the Sangiovese grapes grown in these soils. The winemaking process is characterized by maceration lasting about a month, which helps preserve the grapes’ original aromas. Another important feature of this winemaking process is that the wine is unfiltered, ensuring the preservation of all the aromas and flavors of the grapes. Vigna dell’Impero is then aged in large barrels for two years and then left to mature in the bottle for several months. This fine wine has received numerous awards and recognitions both nationally and internationally.
