Still think 5.7 is the same as .22 WMR?

EA T6B (trident). This is out of the FsN pistol, which I believe is about a 5'' barrel. Velocity is somewhere around 2200fps.

Oh, there are plenty of people around here who think it, namely the ones who told me to sell my new (to me) PS90 and buy a real gun, lol. And they're right if the only 5.7 round you look at is the SS197 because it's at about 60% power. In fact, I've seen .22 WMR that actually outperformed the SS197 by a big margin. But when we're talking full power 5.7 like the SS190 or some of the stuff from EA, it's a whole different story. You get armor piercing capability and it still produces wounds on par with something between a .380 and 9mm. In gel, this round will go through level IIIA armor, then penetrate 12'' with a permanent cavity of almost 4''. Not bad for a glorified .22 magnum huh?

Most important thing to me is whether you've gotten that honey out for a test drive, a range-performance report, and how the optics plan is developing.

Will everyone around here that thinks the .22 WMR is better than the 5.7x28 raise there hands?

Nope, just got my ring sight a few days ago. Only had to wait 2 months for it.

I don't think the .22wmr is better, I just don't think the 5.7 is well suited to a self-defense role, nor does it have a hunting application. If you like them, and they do what you want, good for you, enjoy them. In their original configuration as an SBR, or SMG, it would make a decent room broom or PDW, but I can't see it being worthwhile in a SA, non-NFA configuration.

Hi new to the forum and have FiveSeven and a PS90, I also have a Keltec PMR30 and it isn't like 5.7, where do you get a short barrel for the PS90? Do you take the existing one and have it cut down? Or is it better to buy one already cut?

Thanks

There's a guy who will cut down your existing barrel, or you can buy an aftermarket 10.3'' barrel. It costs 180 to have the factory barrel cut down. If you want to buy an aftermarket one, CMMG makes a pretty nice one. Striker Industries sells the FN factory P90 barrels, but expect to pay between 3-4 hundred. The CMMG is around 250 if I remember correctly.
