Kimber Camp Guard

Recommended Posts

I agree.

Might put grippier grips on it for field use....

I'd put the wood on it for fondling purposes.

But I'm just dreaming.

But that is very nice. Night sights, rounded butt, 10 mm goodness.

Really no heavier than a full size 45.

Any feedback as to how the Kimbers hold up to full house 10mm loads ?

Can they make it in a 4"? I don't like the 5's.

I could not find anyone that offers a 4 inch 10mm. Fusion was brought up a few times, someone had Bob build them a 4.5" 10mm but nothing in a 4". Many spoke of the lack of burn time the 10mm would have in a 4" barrel. Apparently it needs a 5" barrel to get a complete powder burn.

I DO NOT know this as fact but a few different 10mm and 1911 forums discussed this.

Most likely true. The 10mm is a pretty hot round. I just don't care for the looks of a 5" 1911.

From an aesthetic point of view I agree. The 4-4.5 inch just seems to be a well balanced package. I really like my CDP 3" with its short grip.

I really like what Kimber offers with the CDP, different barrel and frame lengths.
