2Naturkinder – Fledermaus Rot 2022

Fledermaus Rot 2022 is a natural wine crafted by , in the Franken region in . This red wine is made with grapes, aka Pinot Meunier which is one of the main grapes used in Champagne, but here it is used as a red wine only.

Fledermaus is a bat in German, and 2Naturkinder actually have a close association with bats, as they used local bat dung as fertiliser on their vineyards!

2Naturkinder was founded in 2013, and are seen as one of the first natural winemakers that created a stir in the German natural wine scene, but the winery itself has been going since 1843! With no added sulphur and 7 hectares of land they care for with a lot of attention the wines of 2Naturkinder are vibrant, energetic and interesting.
