Still red from Tuscany, Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, 14.5% ABV, produced by Castelgiocondo – Frescobaldi. 100% Sangiovese, 0.75L bottle, 2020 vintage. A Brunello made from a historic estate, built in 1100, that represents the excellence of Tuscany. Fruity notes predominate on the nose, ranging from raspberry to currant, with faint hints of blueberry; the elegant floral note that emerges after a few moments is tangy and surprising: unmistakable hints of violet. As it opens, the spicy and tertiary notes due to its long aging unfold. Cinnamon, pepper, and leather intertwine, and on the finish, a balsamic note reminds us of its extreme elegance. On the palate, it envelops completely and impresses with its harmony, dense tannins, and minerality. The finish is long and persistent.
