It is believed that the first inhabited settlement of Priocca was Colle della Stella, located along the road from Alba to Asti. This hill rises in an open, sunny position over the Tanaro valley, facing Barbaresco. The white clays of this area are the main source of the grapes that make up this wine. Each plot of land is given its own name, such as Ramarro, Ciliegio, Rosmarino, etc., to delineate specific identity and characteristics.
