Created by Carey Bringle — owner of the famous Nashville BBQ joint, also called Peg Leg Porker — this nicely aged bourbon is unsurprisingly redolent of barbecue notes and a fine companion to smoked meats and collard greens. The whiskey is filtered through hickory charcoal instead of the more usual maple charcoal used by other Tennessee Whiskies, resulting in a lovely reddish color and notes of honey to complement the more usual vanilla and floral aroma. The finish has a smoky flavor from the filtering process.
