Vinyes Tortuga is Dido & Jurriaan Morsink, a couple from Amsterdam who have made wine literally all over the world – including working as cellar hands for well-known natural winemakers including Escoda Sanahuja and Tom Shobbrook. Eventually they settled down in Catalonia, Spain and purchased 9.5 hectares of vineyards in Alt-Empordà, making their first vintage with their own grapes in 2018. Dido and Juriaan farm the vineyards holistically and chemical free, and live amongst the vines, ‘completely off the grid’ using solar panels and water from the well.
