Werlitsch – Freude 2021

Freude 2021 by Ewald Tscheppe of is an orange wine made in Styria, Austria with a blend of 70% and 30% grapes.

The soils are chalky marl and this orange wine is skin-fermented in tank, then gently pressed and aged on its fine lees in large oak casks for two years.

The bottle is made with clay and this wine has excellent aging potential, which is helped by the amount of time the wine has skin contact maceration – sometimes up to a year.

Expect a long finish, mild tannins and lively citrus elements with notes of soft orange peel. Age for even better results and carafe for optimum expression.
