Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel Rye

We like our Rye whiskey higher in proof, non-chill filtered, and nice and spicy. This bottle from Russell’s reserve fits the bill perfectly. It’s a single barrel offering, so no two barrels will be exactly alike, but it’s got the consistent hallmark characteristics of Russel’s Reserve quality Rye whiskey. Pepper, vanilla, and citrus are the strongest notes on the nose, with a great dose of baking spices, tobacco, and cereals on the palate. The finish shows a nice amount of oak with a hint of candied orange rind.
